We will detail below the different possibilities for a very wide range of engines.
Stage 1 FAP SCR = Modification électronique uniquement avec les organes d’origine. Stage 1 FAP SCR Off = Suppression du FAP (retirer la cartouche) et désactivation du système AdBlue => recommandé pour éviter de saturer le filtre à particules plus rapidement. Stage 2 = Nécessite ligne inox directe ou avec clapets obligatoires.

What improvements are possible on Volvo Trucks 13L Euro 6 engines?
FH420 Euro 6 - D13K
Data at vThe D13K 420 engines develop 2100Nm of torque and use all the injection and transmission elements fitted to the 460. The injectors, the turbo, the clutch and its disc (which are also fitted to the 500 and 540), the exhaust manifold are also from the 460. The engine management system is the EMS2.3 or 2.4. The potential of the 420 is therefore very large. Note that several gearboxes can be mounted allowing a relatively large torque. Volvo FH420 engine reprogramming is one of the best compromises.enir.

FH460 Euro 6 - D13K
The D13K 460 engines develop 2300Nm of torque and as seen for the 460 the elements such as the crankshaft, turbo, clutch, injectors, exhaust manifold are identical. The engine management system is depending on the year an EMS2.3 or 2.4. The final engine reprogramming potential of a 460 Euro 6 is in fact almost identical to the 420 Euro 6. Note that depending on the gearboxes we can more or less optimize the torque. Volvo FH460 engine remapping provides excellent driving performance.

FH500 Euro 6 - D13K
The D13K 500 motors develop 2500Nm of torque and are also designed based on the 540. As with the 420 and 460 the 500 and 540 are counterparts. Injectors, Turbo, Management system, Clutch, Disc, exhaust manifold are identical. The Volvo FH500 engine reprogramming therefore allows a gain in torque and high power.

FH540 Euro 6 - D13K
The D13K 540 engines develop 2600Nm of torque and incorporate the elements of the D13K 500. It is therefore possible to achieve the same gains in terms of power and engine torque since the injectors, turbo, manifold, EMS management system and clutch are identical . In addition, the gearbox on a 540 is necessarily an AT2612.

Here is a summary of the possible Volvo FH 13Liter and 16Litre gearbox combinations. These are the theoretical limits, the physical limits are well beyond the limits indicated. They collect on average 20% more than announced but we will never look for the physical limits.
Below is a comparison table of engine/injection/transmission parts fitted to D13K engines. We can see that the difference between the 420/460 and 500/540 is mainly at the level of the block itself, and that the Turbo and the Injectors are also different. Clutch, disc and exhaust manifold are identical.
