Mercedes Trucks Euro 6: Adblue fault removal

Consequences of Adblue defect: Remove Adblue Mercedes Euro 6

Incidents concerning the AdBlue system occur on Mercedes Trucks & Bus vehicles when one of the elements relating to the emission control system fails, such as the pump, injector, catalyst, NOx sensor, clogged particle filter, impossible regeneration and more.

These faults when interpreted by the engine computer reduce the torque, the power and sometimes even the maximum speed possible with the vehicle (20km/h). We will explain how we solve these breakdowns and can help you out.

How Adblue data works on Mercedes Trucks & Buses Euro 6

Every Euro 6 truck, machine or bus is equipped with two modules. The engine management module MCM (Motor Control Module) and the ACM module (AfterTreatment Control Module). These two boxes are closely linked and also communicate together via a network that we call the CAN network.

When an element of the anti-pollution system controlled by the ACM fails (error following a defective sensor, gauge, clogged catalyst, pressure defect and many others), it sends a message to the ACM which manages its operation. If the value expected by the ACM differs from the value received, then the ACM also sends a message to the MCM which translates it into a fault code and a message to the instrument panel. Depending on the importance of the defect in question, the vehicle can either continue on its way without incident, or have its torque and power reduced, and if the defect is critical in this case the maximum authorized speed can be increased to 20 km/h, this which we call creeping mode (or Limp Mode).

ACM & MCM: Adblue removal procedure on Mercedes Euro 6

As we explained to you above, the vehicle is fitted with 2 ACM and MCM units. They are both identical to the eye but they should not be confused they have different pinouts at the level of the PINS of the connectors. We will have to read the data present in the two ECUs in order to extract the data and be able to modify the necessary parameters.

We have 2 options for working on your vehicle, either directly via memory reading of ACM and MCM data or via data emulation. The two different modes of intervention each have their advantages and disadvantages, see below.
