Solving an Arocs 3240 adblue fault

Following the preparation of two Mercedes Arocs 3240 vehicles for export, where the Euro 6 standard is not in force, we had the task of removing the entire exhaust gas post-treatment system controlled by the MCM and ACM modules.

Aftertreatment Control Modules (ACM) are used in vehicles to monitor and control the operation of emissions management systems in Mercedes, such as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) devices. These modules receive real-time data from various engine and exhaust system sensors, and use this information to make adjustments to fuel injection, spark timing, and more to keep the engine running smoothly and reduce polluting emissions.

Both the ACM and the Engine Control Module (MCM) are connected to the vehicle’s Field Loop Communication (CANBUS) network. The CANBUS is a communication network that links all of the vehicle’s electronic components together, allowing them to share data and work together to keep the vehicle running smoothly. They exchange real-time data on the operation of the engine and the emission management system.

Our engine management programming software makes it possible to modify the engine management software of a vehicle. By using WinOLS, it is possible to delete certain injection parameters, such as those related to the regeneration of the particulate filter (DPF) or the control of the EGR valve (exhaust gas recirculation valve).

DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) are error codes that are stored in a vehicle’s engine management system when a fault is detected. These codes are used by technicians to diagnose vehicle operation problems and determine the causes of faults.

It is possible to clear DTCs from a vehicle by using diagnostic software or by manually erasing the fault codes stored in the engine management system. However, it is important to note that clearing DTC codes may temporarily mask vehicle operation issues, without resolving the underlying cause of those issues. If the DTCs are cleared without identifying and correcting the cause of the fault, it is possible that the problem could reoccur and lead to vehicle failure.

With our solution, the DTCs are permanently deleted and your Arocs is ready to operate without Adblue or particle filter and can therefore be exported without there being any driving constraints in other countries where it is not possible to find adblue.
