Solve a particulate filter problem on Tecnoma Deutz engine
Display of faults relating to the FAP severity phase 2
Due to a fault in the exhaust gas emission system and more specifically in the particle filter, this sprayer could only move forward at a very low maximum speed. In fact, the SPN 524022 code causes the vehicle to be put in degraded mode. This fault code indicates a problem with the regeneration of the DPF which is not carried out correctly and a manual regeneration is now required. This is what our customer did, except that the soot rate in the particulate filter is too high and regeneration is therefore refused by the manufacturer’s diagnostic tool.
The causes of this kind of particulate filter problem on Tecnoma
The message “Error active” DPF Reduct. Power Phase 2, Instruct. Speciale is displayed when the particle filter is faulty. There are several potential causes for a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration problem on a vehicle equipped with this type of system. Here are some examples :
Excessive particulate buildup in the DPF: If the DPF becomes clogged with excessive particulate buildup, it can prevent filter regeneration and lead to a fault problem.
Problem with the regeneration system: If the regeneration system of the DPF is not working properly, it can prevent the regeneration of the filter and lead to a fault problem.
Mechanical problem: A mechanical problem, such as a malfunction of the engine or the fuel injection system, can cause a problem with the regeneration of the DPF.
Remove the DPF and deactivate the SCR system on Tecnoma Deutz TCD6.1
The Bosch EDC17CV52 engine control unit can manage the vehicle’s emission control system, including the particulate filter (DPF). The DPF is an exhaust gas treatment device that traps soot particles and other contaminants produced by the engine. The engine computer manages the regeneration of the DPF, i.e. the process of cleaning the filter by burning the accumulated particles. Reprogramming the engine computer by integrating our own depollution program will definitively stop the errors present in memory. In fact, our program includes DPF and AdBlue management different from that of the manufacturer. In addition, we deactivate the Limp mode (severity mode relating to DPF and emissions) so that the vehicle no longer goes into safety. The problem definitively solved, the vehicle regains all its power and engine torque. The messages previously present on the dashboard disappear.
