Reprogramming Scania R450 NextGen Engine DC13148

The Bonus engine of the Scania 13L on 450

The reprogramming that wins big
Reprogramming a vehicle that has a Bonus engine, such as a Scania R450 reprogram (DC13148) allows for big gains. The DC13148 engine is therefore a six-cylinder diesel engine produced by Scania and used in the trucks of the NextGen range. It is designed to meet Euro 6 pollutant emission standards and features SCR and DPF combustion and post-combustion management technologies. It is a throttled version of the DC13155 motor, which means that it has been power limited compared to the latter, through software programming.

The injectors, the turbo, the clutch, the connecting rods and pistons as well as all the engine components are identical. These are the same references fitted to both vehicles. Only the gearbox depending on the one chosen during the purchase can be different because it is an option that the customer defines. (find here the differences on the 13L NTG)

Torque and power results after engine reprogramming

The integration of the new engine map therefore makes it possible to increase the vehicle’s power from 450hp to 580hp, and improve the torque by around 400Nm (depending on the gearbox). Fuel consumption can drop to around 2 to 3L/100km, which is not negligible.
